While on vacation to the mountains of Utah, my cute little nephew just happened to turn ONE! There's nothing more fun than watching a kid dive unrestrained into pure sweet sugary frosting! He kept looking at us like, "is this really okay?"

But before he got all sticky, we had to get some cute family photos of my sister's cute little family. Man, I already miss those mountains. (And the cute people in these pictures, of course!)

The benefit of having a photographer as a sister is that you get family pictures when I come in town! This is my brother Lane and his wife, and their FOUR girls! I remember Lane being a energetic kid who only lost teeth by knocking them out on some adventurous stunt. I thought his day of 'payback' would come when he would chase his own wild boy around. Instead, he keeps getting the sweetest girly-girls and his life is full of princesses and ponies! Who woulda thought?! I'm proud of him and the lovely family he has created.

You will never meet a more incredible family than this one! Kristin and I go waaaay back, all the way to our high school days! She not only speaks German, but she is also a sign language interpreter. She would sign as she spoke to her kids -- so cool! They invited me out to their BEA-U-TIFUL home and we waltzed through their fields in the backyard. Talk about the dream life! :)

It is well deserved for this caring family.

Baby {S} | Newborn Photographer

Whew! It's been a busy month of July! I've been traveling quite a bit - putting over 2,000 miles on my car in 3 weeks. I imagine I'll add another 1,200 by the time my vacation is over. The word "fun" is an understatement, and it's been wonderful to see family and reconnect with friends.

But enough about me.

I was thrilled when I was contacted to photograph a newborn. I LOVE taking pictures of newborns, and oh my goodness was this baby cute! This little fella had a million expressions, but the one he liked the most was his scowl. Mama F said that Simon's furrowed brow was the first face she saw after he was born. He truly is a miracle baby for this sweet couple, and I'm just honored they let me into their home to capture their amazing {little} man (and I use the word "little" loosely since he is probably reaching 10 lbs at only 2 weeks old!).

It's a busy week with photo shoots, so I'm sure there will be more to come!!
